(Nasdaq: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced Norton PartitionMagic 8.0, the newest addition to Symantec's family of award-winning solutions for consumers. Norton PartitionMagic 8.0, which Symantec obtained through the acquisition of PowerQuest Corporation, has been a worldwide leader in the partitioning utility category since its introduction in 1995 and recently earned the coveted PC Magazine Editors' Choice designation for partitioning solutions in the June 8, 2004, issue of the publication.

Norton PartitionMagic 8.0 lets users create, resize, move, split, merge, undelete and convert disk partitions quickly and easily while protecting the integrity of their data. Now Symantec customers can benefit from the product's power to separate and protect user data and system files, optimize PC performance and run multiple operating systems. Users also benefit with larger partition support, which gives them the ability to create partitions up to 300 GB when the partition is less than 90 percent full.

Norton PartitionMagic 8.0 supports various file systems (NTFS, FAT 32, FAT, Linux Ext2 and Linux Ext3), allowing users to load and run multiple operating systems, or even multiple versions of the same operating system, on the same computer without conflict.
